Carbon Filters eliminate all undesired chemicals and organic compounds—such as pesticides, chlorine, and other volatile organic compounds—carbon filters are essential to the purifying process of water.

Why do we need water carbon filters?

Water carbon filters are used to remove impurities from water by using activated carbon. Activated carbon is a highly porous material that attracts and absorbs impurities such as chlorine, sediment, volatile organic compounds, and unpleasant tastes and odours from water. Carbon filters are commonly used in water treatment systems to improve the taste and smell of drinking water, and to remove harmful chemicals and contaminants.

Carbon filters are also used to remove impurities from water in aquariums and fish tanks, as well as in industries such as food and beverage processing, pharmaceuticals, and electronics manufacturing. They are an effective and affordable method of water purification that can be used in combination with other water treatment methods to achieve even greater levels of purity.

How Does Carbon Filters Work

  • When the water flows through carbon water filters, the chemicals stick to the carbon resulting in purer water output. The effectiveness depends on the flow and temperature of the water. Therefore, smaller active carbon filters should be used with low pressure and cold water.
  • Activated carbon water filters are usually made of coconut shells, wood or coal and sold as granular activated carbon or carbon blocks.
  • Carbon water filters are very effective in removing a wide range of chemicals.
  • Activated carbon is, the only filter recommended to remove all harmful organic contaminants.
  • Chlorine is used in disinfecting water from pathogens. Unfortunately, Chlorine may make water tasty but degrades its smell. Carbon water filters are excellent at removing chlorine and it’s by products, as well as removing the taste and odor associated with it.
  • Activated carbon water filters require very little maintenance, but we need to change media on a time to time basis to ensure proper filtration at all times.
  • Some activated carbon water filters are moderately effective at removing some, but not all, heavy metals. Carbon water filters are helpful in removing chloramine and hydrogen sulphide. The densely concentrated carbon water filters mechanically remove particles down to 0.5 microns, including giardia and cryptosporidium, turbidity, and particulates
  • Active carbon has abilities to remove toxins, odor and bad taste from tap water.
  • Marine Activated Carbon filter are very useful in adsorbing (permanently removing) contaminants and other substances.
  • Marine water Solutions filters have different capabilities in terms of the size of the contaminants they remove. The size ranges from around 50 microns to 0.5 microns.
